Another Colorado parent has had enough, blasting Jeffco Public Schools for allegedly keeping secrets and undermining families when it comes to kids’ overnight trips. This dad isn’t alone – a growing number of parents are fighting back against the district’s radical policies.

At the heart of the battle is Jefferson County Public Schools’ baffling rule that students must share bedrooms and even showers based on their chosen “gender identity,” not their biological sex, during school-sponsored overnight stays. Worse yet, the district flat-out refuses to tell parents who their kids will be rooming with, leaving moms and dads completely in the dark.
Several families, represented by Alliance Defending Freedom, have sued the district, arguing this policy tramples on their fundamental right to protect their children’s privacy and make decisions about their upbringing. They say forcing children of the opposite biological sex to share intimate spaces violates basic bodily privacy and can conflict with deeply held religious beliefs about modesty.
Imagine getting stonewalled by school officials when you ask a simple question: who will my child be sharing a room and bathroom with on this trip? That’s the reality for Jeffco parents. The district claims it offers “accommodations,” but the families suing say there’s no real way to opt for common-sense, sex-separated housing.
Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys argue that parents, not school bureaucrats, have the right to decide what’s appropriate and safe for their own kids, especially regarding sensitive issues like privacy. This isn’t just about feelings; it’s about the constitutional right of parents to direct the care and education of their children without deceptive school policies getting in the way.
The fight in Jefferson County highlights a disturbing trend where schools prioritize woke gender ideology over transparency and the basic privacy rights of students and their families. As more parents join the lawsuit, the message is clear: families are fed up with being sidelined by schools pushing radical agendas behind their backs.
