Secret Roommates, Woke Showers, CO Parents Sue School District

Another Colorado parent has had enough, blasting Jeffco Public Schools for allegedly keeping secrets and undermining families when it comes to kids’ overnight trips. This dad isn’t alone – a growing number of parents are fighting back against the district’s radical policies.

At the heart of the battle is Jefferson County Public Schools’ baffling rule that students must share bedrooms and even showers based on their chosen “gender identity,” not their biological sex, during school-sponsored overnight stays. Worse yet, the district flat-out refuses to tell parents who their kids will be rooming with, leaving moms and dads completely in the dark.

Several families, represented by Alliance Defending Freedom, have sued the district, arguing this policy tramples on their fundamental right to protect their children’s privacy and make decisions about their upbringing. They say forcing children of the opposite biological sex to share intimate spaces violates basic bodily privacy and can conflict with deeply held religious beliefs about modesty.

Imagine getting stonewalled by school officials when you ask a simple question: who will my child be sharing a room and bathroom with on this trip? That’s the reality for Jeffco parents. The district claims it offers “accommodations,” but the families suing say there’s no real way to opt for common-sense, sex-separated housing.

Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys argue that parents, not school bureaucrats, have the right to decide what’s appropriate and safe for their own kids, especially regarding sensitive issues like privacy. This isn’t just about feelings; it’s about the constitutional right of parents to direct the care and education of their children without deceptive school policies getting in the way.

The fight in Jefferson County highlights a disturbing trend where schools prioritize woke gender ideology over transparency and the basic privacy rights of students and their families. As more parents join the lawsuit, the message is clear: families are fed up with being sidelined by schools pushing radical agendas behind their backs.

Great dad. Lousy school! The teachers and other idiots that he mentioned should not only lose their jobs, but should be put in jail for a very long time!

I have suggested to my children to take my grandchildren out of public schools and either homeschool or find a private school that doesn’t hide things from them!

Parents absolutely have the right to know. Parents are responsible for their children. Parents want their children safe. They want their children protected from everything they see as threatening. The 1st amendment is also being violated when parental rights are ignored.
    Thank you Alliance Defending Freedom

It is time parents take the responsibility for the welfare of their child. Parents have been expecting the schools to raise their children. They need to look at who is running their schools and teaching their children.

Parents are the most impactful and respectful of their children’s lives. Schools should not be allowed to hide anything from the parents. God has given parents the right to make decisions that best fit the values they want to teach their children. I am who am today because I had great parents who taught me values that have sustained me through all my ups and downs in my life. Schools are there to teach basic learning skills and that does not include changing your identity because someone who has no skin in the game decides you should be someone else. The school didn’t birth you, they don’t pick up the pieces after they make your children confused and uncomfortable. They don’t financially support your children. Parents have that responsibility.
Schools need to get back to teaching children so the can go into adulthood with a good education that will allow them to be successful in their lives. Leave parenting to the parents.

We need to go to war with this type of administration. They get their authority from their idiot governor but then they elected this administration.

It is pathetic that a school system is allowed to have this type of control over the lives of these students when the students are out from under the control of their parents ! Parents are the guardians and trainers of their children for their entire lives…and to have this type of “non-
compliance” and looseness in the midst of that training is unacceptable!! It puts a set of temptations into their lives that are completely unacceptable and unnecessary!!!…..while at the same time taking the parental “responsibility and rights” completely OUT OF THE PICTURE!!
While at the same time providing an opportunity for these young adults get the idea that “OH, IT’S OK! THE SCHOOL SAYS SO!” WHAT A DIVIDED LESSON FOR THEM TO LEARN IN THEIR FORMATIVE YEARS!!!
