MSNBC Host: Trump Deportations Could Snatch ‘Any of Us’ Next

MSNBC host Symone Sanders didn’t waste time playing the fear card over the weekend, suggesting the recent deportation mix-up involving a Maryland man means President Trump’s administration is coming for “any of us.”

Sanders was referring to the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an El Salvadoran national living here under protected status who was deported back home in March. ICE later admitted the deportation was an “administrative error,” though the administration is fighting his return, citing alleged gang ties and labeling him a danger.

A federal judge ordered Garcia brought back, but Chief Justice John Roberts put that on ice while the Supreme Court reviews the tangle.

But for Sanders, co-hosting MSNBC’s “The Weekend,” the nuance didn’t matter. “If they could do it to them, if they could snatch students off the street without any pushback or recourse, they will do it to any of us,” she declared Saturday.

Leaning into identity politics, she added, “To be very clear, it’s going to be the people of color and vulnerable communities that are next in line.”

Garcia, who fled El Salvador years ago fearing gang violence, was granted protection from deportation in 2019. Despite this, he ended up back in El Salvador, sent to the notorious CECOT prison after his arrest in Baltimore. The administration argues he’s linked to gangs, a point supporters of stricter immigration enforcement highlight, while advocates focus on his protected status and family ties in the U.S.
