CNN got a dose of reality when conservative commentator Scott Jennings dismantled Democratic strategist Maria Cardona live on air over President Trump’s popular border crackdown. Jennings wasn’t having any of the usual liberal hand-wringing, pointing out the obvious: Trump is just doing what the American people want.
CNN host whines about Trump deporting illegals because “coming into the country illegally is a civil offense, not a criminal offense”

Jennings highlighted a recent CBS poll showing a whopping 62% of voters – including a majority of Hispanics – support mass deportations of illegal immigrants. He rightly noted that starting with those already ordered deported by a judge, especially violent criminals like members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang, is just common sense. Trump’s been ramping up removals, even dusting off the old Alien Enemies Act to get dangerous thugs out faster.
Naturally, Cardona trotted out the tired argument about who will pick the lettuce, worried that deporting illegal workers might hike grocery prices. Apparently, cheap lettuce is more important than safe streets and the rule of law to some folks.
Predictably, a federal judge tried to throw a wrench in the works, ruling against using the 1798 act for deportations and even ordering planes turned around. But the Trump administration isn’t backing down, signaling they’re ready for the fight to secure the border.
And sanctuary cities better take note. Incoming Border Czar Tom Homan put them on notice: help deport criminal illegals, or ICE will come into your communities and find them anyway. Homan even reminded local officials that harboring illegal aliens is a felony. The message is clear: the days of shielding criminals from deportation are over.
