The mainstream media just can’t help themselves, can they? Even in remembering Pope Francis following his passing on Easter Monday, outlets like CBS are being slammed for twisting his legacy to fit their left-wing narrative. The Media Research Center is calling them out for projecting their own ideology onto the late Pontiff.
CBS, Like the Rest of the Media, Project Their Ideology on Pope Francis https://t.co/9wkdR5PNcf

Remember that CBS interview Francis did with Norah O’Donnell? The one where he took a swipe at conservative Catholics? He accused them of having a “suicidal attitude” because they “cling to something and do not want to see beyond that,” warning against being “closed up inside a dogmatic box.” Of course, the media ate that part up.
But as the MRC points out, that’s only half the story – the half the liberal media wanted you to hear. They loved highlighting Francis’s views on climate change and immigration, making him sound like their kind of guy. What they conveniently downplayed, or ignored altogether, were the times Francis sounded like, well, a Catholic Pope. He upheld traditional Church teaching on critical issues like abortion and same-sex marriage, but you wouldn’t know it from much of the coverage.
It’s the same old story: the media picks and chooses what fits their agenda. Instead of presenting a balanced view of Pope Francis, a figure known for internal Church controversy and division, especially among American Catholics wary of his progressive leanings, they painted him with their own ideological brush. It wasn’t just reporting; it was spin.
