Well, well, look who got caught squirming. Senator Elizabeth Warren, who spent months insisting Joe Biden was sharp as a tack, is now singing a different tune – and it’s not exactly a chart-topper. Faced with her past cheerleading for Biden’s mental fitness, Warren stumbled badly in a recent interview.
Remember last year? Before Biden finally stepped aside amid widespread concerns over his cognitive state – concerns highlighted by Special Counsel Robert Hur and echoed by Republicans like Ronna McDaniel – Warren was out there assuring everyone he was perfectly fine. Now, confronted with those old statements, she offered this gem: “Saying ‘[Biden] can speak in sentences is not praise.’” Ouch. That’s quite the backtrack from vigorous defense to damning with faint praise.

The interviewer didn’t let her off the hook, pressing her on the clear contradiction between her previous confidence in Biden and his eventual withdrawal precisely because of those fitness issues. Warren, usually quick with a talking point, seemed flustered, struggling to reconcile her past spin with the undeniable reality that led to President Harris taking the reins.
It just goes to show how far some politicians will go to prop up a narrative, even when the evidence is staring everyone in the face. Saying Biden could string sentences together wasn’t exactly a high bar, Liz, but it seems even that low standard became too much to defend honestly.
