Trump Prosecutor Letitia James Now Facing Her Own Fraud Probe

Looks like payback time for Letitia James! After relentlessly pursuing President Trump with a massive $464 million civil fraud case, the tables might be turning on the New York Attorney General. The Trump administration isn’t sitting back and taking it anymore.

Word on the street is that a criminal referral alleging mortgage fraud has landed squarely on James’s desk, courtesy of the Federal Housing Finance Agency Director William Pulte. This referral didn’t just disappear into the ether; it was sent straight to Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy AG Todd Blanche. You read that right – the feds are now looking into James.

This move comes hot on the heels of James’s high-profile legal victory against Trump, his family, and his business empire, a case many saw as politically motivated from the start. James famously campaigned on going after Trump, and she delivered, hitting him with a staggering penalty and attempting to cripple his New York business operations.

Predictably, James’s office is crying foul, accusing the administration of – wait for it – “weaponizing the federal government” and undermining the Constitution. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? It seems okay when they target political opponents, but it’s an outrage when the shoe is potentially on the other foot.

Remember, this is the same AG who filed that sprawling civil suit back in 2022, accusing the Trumps of inflating asset values for years. While James has also gone after actual scammers, like the trio busted for a deed theft scheme in the Bronx last year, the focus on Trump always felt personal. Now, she might have to answer some tough questions herself. Stay tuned, folks, this legal drama is far from over.
