Whoopi Goldberg used her perch on “The View” Thursday to tell Americans they should cough up more cash and also seemed confused about basic constitutional rights. The co-host thinks you aren’t paying your fair share for local schools and libraries.

“If you’re in an area where the school district is losing, then you got to pay a little more taxes and you got to help the schools out,” Goldberg lectured viewers.
Apparently forgetting where she works, Goldberg also fretted about free speech disappearing under President Trump. “I don’t understand when the First Amendment disappeared,” she declared, urging people to “speak up.”
Her demands for higher taxes combined with worries about free speech rights predictably caused a stir. Critics questioned the logic, while supporters called it a necessary plea for civic duty.
The comments landed while the nation digests President Trump’s executive order hitting back at former officials and a pause on tariffs. As usual, Goldberg’s take offered more heat than light, leaving viewers to debate her grasp on economics and the Constitution.
