Senator Eric Schmitt isn’t mincing words, calling out federal judges he says are acting like activists to block President Trump’s plans to deport illegal immigrants. Schmitt blasted these judges for grabbing power they don’t have, effectively kneecapping the administration’s attempts to enforce the law.

This isn’t just Schmitt sounding off; it echoes a growing frustration among Republicans about judges using nationwide injunctions to halt policies they don’t like. Remember when Attorney General Jeff Sessions warned about this very thing? He said a single judge could paralyze the whole government, pointing to blocks on sanctuary city policies and DACA.
Now, judges are at it again. One recently slammed the brakes on Trump’s move to speed up deportations for illegals here less than two years, claiming the administration didn’t follow the rules. Another judge even stopped deportation flights for Venezuelan gang members, raising flimsy “due process” concerns about whether the thugs being booted were *really* gang members.
Schmitt, who previously fought tooth and nail at the Supreme Court to defend Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy, sees these judicial roadblocks as dangerous overreach. He argues policies like Remain in Mexico are vital to control the border chaos and stop illegal immigrants from simply vanishing into the country.
It’s a clear battle line: the Trump administration trying to secure the borders and enforce immigration law, versus judges who seem determined to stand in the way.
