Trump establishes task force to combat anti-Christian bias within federal agencies

President Donald Trump has initiated the formation of a new task force. This effort, announced during a recent event in Washington D.C. coinciding with the National Prayer Breakfast, aims to eliminate anti-Christian bias within federal agencies, which Trump identifies as a growing issue across the nation.

At the heart of this initiative is an executive order that underscores rising incidents of vandalism against conservative churches and pro-life pregnancy centers, a situation that has become more pronounced in the wake of significant judicial decisions, such as the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Trump’s remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast included pointed criticisms of various federal entities like the DOJ, IRS, and FBI. To spearhead this newly formed task force, he appointed Attorney General Pam Bondi. The group’s primary duties will involve identifying policies considered discriminatory and making recommendations for legislative or executive remedies as necessary.

The task force’s agenda is expansive, including the investigation and prosecution of anti-Christian violence. Trump enthusiastically declared his commitment, saying he would “move heaven and earth” to ensure that Christians can practice their faith freely across all domains of life—schools, military, workplaces, and public spaces. He articulated a vision of unity, invoking a return to the principle of being “one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all.”

In addition to this task force, Trump is establishing the White House Faith Office, which will be led by Pastor Paula White. White, who previously provided counsel to Trump on faith-related issues during his first term, will oversee this revived office, now set to be located in the West Wing. This move represents a renewed focus on faith initiatives within the executive branch.

The backdrop to this initiative includes recent actions by Trump, including a pardon granted to pro-life activists who faced legal challenges under the Biden administration. Furthermore, a recent report revealed troubling actions by the FBI, during which traditional Catholics were flagged as potential threats, raising alarms about systemic discrimination against religious groups within the federal apparatus.
