In an emotional session on the House floor, Rep. Nancy Mace from South Carolina took the stage to share a deeply personal story, citing her faith and the Bible as her sources of strength.
For nearly 60 minutes, Mace publicly identified men she claims were involved in heinous acts against her and others, stating she was determined to “unveil evil” within her community.
With the support of fellow Representatives and survivors present, she wasn’t alone during this extraordinary moment.
Capitalizing on her legislative immunity, Mace called out four men, including her ex-fiancé, alleging they were guilty of serious sexual crimes.
She didn’t hold back, accusing South Carolina’s Attorney General of failing to pursue critical evidence she supposedly provided regarding voyeurism and rape cases.
Turning to the Bible for inspiration, she referenced Jeremiah 6:16 while discussing the ordeal she faced after learning about the alleged misconduct surrounding her ex-fiancé, Patrick Bryant.
She described the shocking discovery of thousands of unauthorized videos stored on his devices, revealing the exploitation of unsuspecting women.
Mace recounted, “In November 2023, I accidentally uncovered some of the most heinous crimes against women imaginable,” detailing the extent of the violations she found.
Her claims have been firmly denied by Bryant, who expressed his intention to cooperate with legal processes to clear his name.
As a follower of Christ, Mace explained how her faith has propelled her to advocate for those she believes have been victimized.
She shared, with distress, how painful it was to realize some victims were connected to her ex-fiancé’s colleagues.
Describing her findings as files of victims who had no idea their privacy was violated, Mace stated the gravity of what she uncovered.
Amid her speech, she accused the attorney general of stalling an investigation into the evidence she offered months prior, raising serious concerns about accountability.
In response to Mace’s statements, the Attorney General’s office issued a statement asserting the claims were “categorically false,” insisting they had not received reports related to her allegations.
Among the troubling videos Mace mentioned was one that depicted an incapacitated woman being assaulted, a moment she recounted with great anguish.
She revealed that she herself was unknowingly filmed after being given alcohol, amplifying her call for justice for all victims involved.
Mace’s address also touched on a serious investigation now being carried out by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, prompted by her earlier allegations.
Following her revelations, SLED confirmed an active investigation concerning allegations of assault and voyeurism against Bryant.
In addition to her personal story, Mace highlighted various legislative efforts aimed at protecting women, introducing 13 bills designed to tackle these types of crimes.
Throughout her speech, she reinforced her messages with Bible verses that supported her mission to confront injustice.
In a poignant moment, she stated, “As a woman of faith, I draw strength from the teachings of Jesus Christ, in that Christ confronted injustice wherever He saw it.”
Mace concluded with a reminder that while forgiveness is essential, it should never come at the cost of justice for victims.
Alongside her speech, she ensured resources for victims were shared, showcasing her commitment to support those affected by such egregious acts.
