Chris Pratt shares gratitude as his home survives devastating wildfires in Los Angeles

Amidst the chaos and destruction caused by the recent devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, actor Chris Pratt expressed his heartfelt gratitude that his home managed to escape unscathed. Posting a video on Instagram, Pratt revealed his intense emotions as he returned to inspect his property for the first time since the evacuation orders were put in place due to the Palisades fire. “Miraculously, it’s still standing” he shared, emphasizing that this was a “silver lining” during such a tragic time. “By the grace of God, we have four walls and a roof,” he added.

However, the actor did not shy away from acknowledging the heartbreaking reality faced by many around him. “So many people’s houses were burned around us. The community’s gone. My son’s school is gone. My son’s mom’s house burned down. Dozens of our friends lost their homes,” Pratt noted. His comments underscore the extensive damage inflicted by the wildfires that have spread across neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

Gratitude Towards First Responders

In a show of support, Pratt hailed the dedication of the firefighters and first responders battling the flames, calling them “true heroes.” He expressed immense appreciation for their sacrifices, stating, “we are endlessly grateful for your sacrifice and courage.” His acknowledgment sheds light on the dangerous and selfless work being undertaken by these brave individuals amidst one of the worst wildfire seasons the area has faced.

The Palisades fire, which has left a significant mark, has burned over 23,448 acres, leading to the destruction of nearly 7,000 structures and the tragic loss of lives. As of now, it is reported to be 94% contained. The human toll is also significant, with eleven fatalities linked to the fire, prompting an urgent call for prayers from Pratt not long ago.

In his earlier message, Pratt detailed the enormity of the crisis: “Los Angeles is in a state of emergency, and over 30,000 have been ordered to evacuate.” His earlier posts painted a vivid picture of the catastrophic situation, featuring images of intense flames consuming landscapes and firefighters working tirelessly to contain the blaze.

Wider Impact and Community Resilience

The fires have not just impacted Pratt’s neighborhood; they have affected entire communities. The Eaton fire and the Hughes fire have similarly ravaged regions around Los Angeles and surrounding areas, resulting in significant destruction and loss of life. Leaders in California have faced criticism for their response to the fires, particularly concerning reports of empty hydrants that hindered firefighting efforts.

As the wildfires continue to blaze through the region, residents, including Pratt, are left to grapple with the aftermath, reflecting on both their losses and the fragility of their surroundings. “We’re resilient and we trust in God,” Pratt concluded in his message to followers. “Consider it all a blessing. God bless you. Thank you for your prayers. Talk to you soon.”
