Republican bill to ban transgender lawmaker from Capitol women’s rooms sparks backlash

In a move that has stirred significant controversy, Rep. Nancy Mace from South Carolina has put forth a resolution aimed at banning biological men from using women’s restrooms in the U.S. House of Representatives. This proposal has created a firestorm, particularly in light of the recent election of Sarah McBride, a Democrat from Delaware and the first openly transgender member of Congress. Mace’s stance has been labeled as “far right-wing extremism” by McBride, who quickly responded through social media, emphasizing the need for respect and kindness in public spaces.

Mace, who has been representing her constituents since 2020, expressed her firm belief that “biological men do not belong in private women’s spaces. Period. Full stop. End of story,” alongside the introduction of her bill on Twitter. Her resolution seeks to prohibit all House employees and lawmakers from using single-sex facilities that do not correspond to their biological sex, placing the enforcement of this policy in the hands of the U.S. sergeant-at-arms if it were to be adopted.

In response to this legislative initiative, McBride articulated her views, hoping that Congress could embody the same respect that everyday Americans show to those with differing life experiences. She criticized the bill as a distraction from pressing issues such as affordable housing and healthcare, asserting that her focus remains on making the American dream more attainable for all citizens.

As the story gained traction in the media, Mace was unrepentant about her intentions. Speaking with reporters, she affirmed that her bill was indeed a direct reaction to McBride’s presence in Congress, stating, “I’m absolutely 100% going to stand in the way of any man who wants to be in a women’s restroom.” Mace elaborated that her fight is rooted in advocating for women’s rights, revealing her disbelief at being branded a “bigot” for her stance.

This also caught the attention of House Speaker Mike Johnson, who initially sidestepped questions concerning restroom access but later commented that Congress would need to approach this issue carefully. Johnson emphasized the importance of treating everyone with dignity and respect while maintaining a personal belief that gender is determined biologically. His remarks have sparked further debate, triggering emotional responses across social media platforms.

What about respecting women feeling uncomfortable and alarmed by a biological male entering women’s restrooms just because he feels like doing it?

    Where’s the real respect?

It should go without saying – America has lost its godly wisdom/discernment. Backroom discussions are happening to cause this nation to SELF-DESTRUCT, NOT KNOWING THE GOD WHO ESTABLISHED IT, reaping the consequences/whirlwind…judgement/ wrath of the Father, God Almighty Himself…LEAVING NO ONE WITHOUT EXCUSE. We reap what we sow. God’s love is always reaching out, for mankind to take hold of, have faith in….He only wants us to repent/obey His word – the Bible, truth as it is written. God made no mistake creating us male/female. Some how, multitudes with ignorant/arrogant minds have so deceived the whole world, many perish, going after false gods, self interests, their own agenda of what’s right in their own eyes, denying any influence of the sword of the Spirit – the Bible…men/women in darkness, loving their deeds which they know are evil, yet, in every way possible denying God’s judgement.

This statement is correct. People have gotten to believe they are better and know more then God Himself. God doesn’t make mistakes. Hands down no voting required. Ban all tran’s movements. Tran genders sure not be able to live in America. They don’t believe in the creator .

It is common sense to even the merest child that a man is a man and a woman, a woman. Anyone denying that is a complete idiot or someone looking for a fight! Neither should be in Congress! Should not even come up for debate! We have much more important things to figure out! Alf

This is just good common sense ! It really has nothing to do with religion or anything else. If you have male parts than you use the respective restroom and the same for women.

They need to just add two more restrooms: Trans Men and a Trans Female.

Can they just make another restroom and label it “other” for the FEW who are “transgender”?? I would not want a man who calls himself a woman in the women’s bathroom either!!!

I wouldn’t want a woman pretending to be a man in the MEN’S ROOM while I was relieving myself. Why is this controversial?

Make the restrooms Male/Female like a lot of places are doing. Put stalls around the urinals. Problem solved, instead of making such a big deal out of it. The Bible should not be associated with politics anyway.

This is all bs. I did gave a dam if to are a transvestite or a transitioned person. Your freaking biology doesn’t change. So it only makes since to force all you mental health cases to use the rest room of your biology. That is what God make you. But you would prefere to be a man made abomination who want to force people to be stressed out and numb and every other emotion can can make people I’ll. You are only one person there . You don’t have the right to decide what rest room to use just because your desire to become a freak. You are a adult but still doesn’t give you the right to make real women feel uncomfortable. You are a man. Just because you cut your penis off doesn’t make you a woman . Only God can make man and woman. Man want to play God and thinks he has to right to perform these procedures that are straight from Satan himself . So yes you should ban all rest rooms from the opposite sex. Especially our precious children rest rooms!!!!!

Until which time, the gutless, spineless Republicans “man-up” and fight back, nothing will change! They don’t know how to “Fight – Fight – Fight’! They’re to afraid of NOT being re-elected! Johnson is a very weak leader – too timid to enforce the real truth!!! Unlike Marjorie Taylor Greene, or Nancy Mace, he shrinks into the darkness and obfuscates/deflects! The Bible – the great book of our Lord God makes it real clear what and man and woman are even though a supreme court judge CAN’T define it!!! For shame!!! Until which time Americans turn their faces to our Great Lord God and begin worshipping the “prince of peace” – our advocate and mediator, then I’m NOT so sure he’ll want to bless us!! Until Americans can define the difference between right and wrong, good and evil, then clowns like this lunatic McBride (he/she) will continue to dominate the narrative! Members of congress are suppose to represent our BEST interest instead enriching themselves enounced in their Imperial Palace/Capitol!!!

I am a “to each her/his own” type person as long as it doesn’t negatively affect others. A man who becomes an it and a woman who becomes an it do not have the right to personal and private spaces of others of the opposite biological gender. That’s sexual deviation and is not normal. God created a man and a woman, period. If you want to mutilate yourself and become a freak of nature, go for it but don’t expect the world to accommodate you. Push Congress for your own personal “it” or “other” spaces but leave ours alone.

Transsexuals make up approximately 4% of our population. This very small number needs to align with policies already in place. Most buildings offer a third option in bathrooms. Chose the one for your biological sex or the third offered.
