Kirk Cameron welcomes first grandchild and releases new book for adults on faith and hope

In a heartwarming blend of personal milestones and professional pursuits, Kirk Cameron, best known for his role in the beloved sitcom Growing Pains, is embracing exciting new chapters in his life. Most notably, he is celebrating the arrival of his first grandchild, a moment that has left him both thrilled and reflective.

“It’s an exciting experience to have kids. Now when you have grandkids it’s definitely next level. I’ve heard that my whole life. Now I’m experiencing it,” Cameron shared, revealing how this significant change has brought him immense joy at the age of 53.

In addition to the joys of grandfatherhood, Cameron has launched a new book aimed at adults, titled Born To Be Brave. In this work, he emphasizes the need for a spiritual revival in America, urging a return to foundational principles that he believes foster protection and prosperity. With a strong belief in the power of literature to drive change, he hopes the book will inspire other authors to produce works that encourage and promote values rooted in faith.

“I want more than anything to write more books like this,” Cameron stated, expressing his desire to see Born To Be Brave achieve success that resonates throughout the publishing world. Its subtitle, How To Be A Part of America’s Spiritual Comeback, encapsulates his mission of empowering individuals to shine in the face of cultural challenges.

Cameron, who has six adult children and is married to Chelsea Cameron, a fellow Growing Pains actress, takes pride in his journey away from the shadows that often engulf young celebrities. “I didn’t pass away in my youth like many teenage actors who got strung out. That is a blessing I’m so grateful for,” he remarked, highlighting the differences in their paths.

The actor is also quite active in the literary world, having read at public libraries, aiming to instill virtues of character in young minds. “As I’m reading books of virtue and character to children at public libraries contra drag-queen story hours, political corruption, economic collapse, and moral sewage, I’m finding thousands of parents, grandparents, and kids who are lighting up brushfires of freedom and virtue,” he explained. Cameron sees his efforts as part of a counter-narrative that promotes spiritual wellness.

Amidst challenges faced by parents today, many have sought Cameron for guidance. They frequently express feelings of helplessness regarding societal pressures and shifts in cultural norms. However, Cameron reassures them that hope is not lost, referencing the robust history of resilience found within communities of faith. “That hopelessness is found nowhere in the history of the family of faith, the scriptures or what I’m seeing right now,” he stated passionately.

Cameron also links the current state of affairs to a potential awakening, suggesting that cultural setbacks could indeed be setups for a resurgence of faith and values. “What if the current cultural setback is really a divine setup for a spiritual comeback by the family of faith?” he pondered during a recent interview.

Hollywood seems to be taking notice of the hunger for stories that resonate with deeper values. Cameron pointed out the industry’s awareness of projects like HBO’s planned series on the biblical figure King David, as well as the success of films that celebrate redemption and hope. Those narratives are what connect most profoundly with audiences, he believes.

Ultimately, while celebrating these personal achievements, Cameron’s vision extends beyond himself. He expressed a desire for a wider array of authors and filmmakers to create content that champions good and counteracts what he perceives as an overwhelming tide of negativity in media today. “Think of what we could do if we got a plan, worked together and our cause was just,” he urged, rallying for collective action among those who share his vision for a revitalized culture.
