A terrifying incident unfolded at the home of Pastor Greg Locke, the leader of Global Vision Bible Church in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, when an armed assailant discharged a substantial number of rounds into the property while one of Locke’s children was inside. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Details from the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office indicate that the shooting began around 10:30 p.m., resulting in around 30 to 40 shell casings scattered across the house, garage, and surrounding vehicles. Captain Scott Moore confirmed that they are currently investigating the situation but have yet to make any arrests.
Locke shared his experience with followers, depicting the ordeal as nothing short of horrifying. He stated in an Instagram post that the family arrived home just one minute after the alleged shooter unleashed a full magazine of bullets into their residence. “The sound on the video is truly horrific,” he emphasized, highlighting that one of the bullets made its way through the headboard of his youngest daughter’s bed, lodging itself in her pillow.
Following the gunfire, security personnel escorted the family to a hotel for their safety. Locke reflected on the troubling event and emphasized his gratitude for their safety, citing Psalm 91 as a testament to divine protection. “The only detail that matters is that Psalm 91 is true, and GOD PROTECTED US IN UNIMAGINABLE AND SUPERNATURAL WAYS,” he wrote. He urged his followers to pray for his family during this distressing time.
Greg Locke has become a notable figure in conservative circles, especially after he posted a controversial video in 2016 criticizing corporate policies regarding bathroom access. This garnered him significant attention and support. However, in 2023, Locke made headlines again when he announced he was scaling back his political commentary, stating that it had begun to overshadow his ministry. With a decision to delete thousands of past videos, he expressed the desire to focus more on his spiritual mission rather than political discussions, promising his audiences that moving forward, he would prioritize messages centered around Jesus.
As investigations continue into the shooting, Locke remains shaken yet thankful for the safety of his family amidst such chaos and fear.
